Sierra Foothills Academy is a K-12 school for children with Special needs. Our small school environment enables us to work more hands on with our students.
SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER JOB SUMMARY:
Performs any combination of instructional tasks in the classroom to ensure that optimal education needs of our students are met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (includes, but is not limited to):
-Plans, organizes and implements daily lessons in accordance with the approved curriculum.
-As a part of a team, writes and implements goals as outlined in each student's IEP.
-Responsible for managing student behavior.
-Develops appropriate learning materials.
-Implements specific educational strategies to meet the unique needs of individual students.
-Provides direct supervision and support to the assigned Teachers’ assistants, including coaching, and evaluation.
-Prepares and presents individual educational plans at IEP meetings.
-Evaluates student progress and prepares reports.
-Communicates well with other staff, professionals and parents.
-Provides varied creative learning experiences for students.
-Maintains a high level of ethical and professional standards.
-Engages in recreational and/or therapeutic sports activities as needed.
-Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Valid Education Specialist Teaching Credential or eligibility for credential.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Salary : $51,000 - $105,000
