Dress Code: You are asked to wear articles of clothing suitable for the type of work you perform and the environment in which you work. Articles of clothing should be neat, clean, safe, and in good taste. Torn or worn-out clothing are not permitted because they are a safety hazard. They can become caught or snagged on the machinery on site. Hard Hats, Steel toed boots, ear protection and safety glasses are required. (safety glasses, hard hat and ear protection will be provided)
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
Responsibilities include assisting maintenance in repair service, fabrication, assembly, and installation of parts and equipment for sawmill, planning mill, truck shop, dry kilns, and bark plant.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES/KNOWLEDGE:

- Have a mechanical aptitude, interest and/or experience to become a maintenance millwright.
- Must work in full compliance with the approved safety rules and regulations.
- Assist maintenance millwrights with:
- Assembling and installing machines then testing them to make sure they are working correctly.
- Managing the layout and placement of equipment and machinery in sawmill, planning mill, truck shop, dry kilns and bark plant.
- Identifying and repairing problematic parts of a machine by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts.
- Dismantling older machines and replacing them with new ones.
- Overseeing preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn out pieces and lubricating mechanical parts
- Keep the shop and project areas clean and organized.
- Keep materials properly stored.
- Learn to use tools in a safe and professional manner.
- Work toward maintenance millwright level #2 rating.
- Work overtime as business needs arise.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform effectively in this position, the incumbent must have/be:
- Education: High School Diploma
- Minimum one year combined experience is sawmill, planning mill, and/or heavy industry maintenance.
- Good at adhering to strict safety guidelines and aware of safety risks
- Mechanical aptitude in dealing with wrenches, hammers, forklifts, and other similar tools.
- Working knowledge of mechanical technical skills to allow them to effectively read documents such as specifications, machine manuals, and blueprints.
- Proficient in troubleshooting techniques to solve machine issues.
- Excellent mathematical skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to write, read, and follow written instructions.
- Ability to be a team player due to constant interactions with similar employees and stakeholders such as Engineers, Plant Managers, and Part Vendors, amongst others.
