Overview
The Sierra Lobo Rocket Technology and Engineering Services II (RTES II) contract provides advise and assist services (A&AS) at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at Edwards AFB, California. AFRL conducts rocket propellant and rocket propulsion research, as well as developing associated test processes and facilities.
The Senior Security Program Analyst will provide Senior Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) to the AFRL RQIO Operations Branch supporting rocket propulsion research/ test security activities. Evaluates and maintains technical surveillance of Information Security, Physical Security, and Operations Security.
Sierra Lobo, offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies. We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems. Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
This position will be located at Edwards AFB, CA.

Responsibilities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinates and reviews all evaluations and inspections of AFRL proper and provides reports to the RQIO Security Lead.
- Compiles technical security information and assists with rocket test facilities, customer interface and
- Liaison with 412 Security Forces Squadron—coordinates site access and visitor control policy, oversees admin of site’s access control list.
- Assists customer with documenting policy, guidance, and associated training for Program Protection Planning (PPP) activities.
- Performs regular inspections of the site’s security programs and practices, serves on host-base security working groups, maintains all assigned security programs and ensures compliance with those programs.
- Assists RQ-West government representatives/customers to define/determine appropriate security programs.
- Administers processes for all visit clearances to facility and obtains necessary approvals from all government agencies.
- Coordinates with security officers, provides assistance in all control issues and provide training sessions for appropriate staff.
- Will provide advisory and assistance services (A&AS) with developing and managing (including internal/external collaboration) security aspects for test programs.
Qualifications
REQUISITE SKILLS:
- Expert knowledge of common and specialized administrative security methods, rules, regulations, and principles.
- Provide assistance to the AFRL-West security functional and security specialist and perform a wide variety of interrelated or non-standard security assignments, resolve problems and properly handle classified materials.
- Expert knowledge of procedures, forms, information, and confidentiality requirements related to sensitive personal information and access requests and submittal processes to appropriate government agency/organizations.
- Submit personnel visit request.
- Independently managing security programs.
- Expert knowledge of one or more automated databases associated with specific security function to recognize, locate, and enter data/information; support office and security operations: and develop and provide a variety of documents and reports. This includes: visitor control, access control, personnel security, security training, and other security programs administration.
- Ability to expertly communicate both orally and in writing with a diverse group of individuals, using a high degree of tact and diplomacy.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- The candidate must be a US Citizen.
- Must obtain a DoD security clearance.
- Five or more years’ experience.
- Ability to plan and organize work, follow instructions. and accomplish multiple ongoing projects; and ability to locate, assemble, and compose information for reports, inquiries, and technical correspondence. This includes letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs.
- This may be a designated Drug Testing Position.
