Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides supervision of Clinical Staff as follows:
- Clinical consultation for support staff, counselors, associate clinicians, and licensed clinicians
- Supervision of associate clinicians for 1 Hour per week of individual supervision, with a maximum caseload of 6 associates
- Provide group case consultation for team weekly
- Review and sign all clinical documentation in electronic medical record for supervisees within your program
- Ensuring all documentation is timely and demonstrates the high clinical standards, as well as meet compliance requirements
- Under the direction of the Clinical Director, evaluates members of the clinical staff to ensure they are demonstrating the necessary skills for all clinical duties, and provides feedback as needed.
- Directs and supports crisis intervention needs that arise among patients
- Under the direction of the Clinical Director, ensure curriculum is well understood by clinical staff and utilized appropriately
- Engages in ongoing shadowing of clinicians and counselors running therapy groups to provide training and coaching as needed
- Assists the Clinical Director to identify training needs
- Ensures patient individual and family sessions are occurring on required timelines
- Meets weekly with Clinical Director to discuss ongoing performance improvement and clinical quality
- Provides direct services such as group therapy and managing a small caseload of patients
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Excellent multi-tasking & delegation skills.
- Ability to manage staff with respect to screening, assessment, individualized treatment planning, crisis intervention, group and individual counseling, case management, referral, discharge summaries, clinical documentation, and professional ethics.
- Thrives at establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with direct reports, supervisors, managed health care clinicians, and medical and mental health professionals.
- Computer Literacy in Microsoft, spreadsheet, and email. Proficiency in EMR Software.
- Ability to positively interact and develop rapport with patients and their families.
- Skilled at developing systems and methodologies for continuous improvement of program and treatment modalities.
- Ability to evaluate and review effectiveness of program, services, and group therapy.
- Ability to maintain culture of care that is conducive for maximum benefit of both clients and staff.
- Understanding of diverse cultures and gender specific issues and ability to incorporate needs of gender and culturally diverse groups into practice setting.
Qualifications:
- Masters or Doctoral degree in Clinical Counseling from an accredited university or institution
- Valid California licensure as a Psychologist, Marriage & Family Therapist, Clinical Social Worker, or Professional Clinical Counselor
- Minimum of three years’ licensed clinical experience; two or more years providing clinical supervision is preferred
- Ability to translate the latest evidence-based models into practical counseling and therapy skills
- Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize, and prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities.
- Ability to proactively respond to crisis situations and time-sensitive inquiries
- Excellent written & verbal communication
- Ability to deliver engaging presentations and build rapport
- Maintain valid CPR/First Aid certification.
- Maintain valid auto insurance and driving record of 3 or fewer points.
- Individual must be willing to work with a wide variety of symptoms related to mental health, multi-cultural populations, and have an understanding for cultural diversity.
