Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners at Sierra Meadows & Ascend Psychiatry are responsible for providing one-on-one history & physicals, medication evaluations, medication management services, and follow-ups to a range of clients. Clients in our program have a variety of mental health disorders. This Per-Diem PMHNP position is a highly supported position, working under the supervision of the Medical Director as well as our Director of Psychiatric Services, and we are open to training eager & competent candidates in the field of mental health. The position will train at all of our Fresno/Clovis locations - residential program, partial hospitalization program, and outpatient programs.
DETAILED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts medication assessments and crisis response to new and existing clients. Develops individual service plans based upon assessment data, and provides therapeutic interventions as necessary including the provision of on-going medication management services.
- Provides consultation and health education to agency staff, caregivers and clients as it is relative to the treatment and medication needs of agency consumers.
- Participates in discharge planning with other agency and facility staff.
- Maintains documentation of services including service plans, progress notes, medication informed consent, treatment plan reviews, and other required information in compliance with agency and third party compliance standards.
- Receives medical supervision from psychiatric consultants consistent with applicable Protocol for Provision of Family Nurse Practitioner Services.
- Completes other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor that are consistent with the responsibilities of the position.

Requirements
- Licensure in California as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
- Two years' experience working with individuals who have mental health conditions and/or substance abuse disorders is ideal.
- Will consider new grads or candidates exhibiting a combination of licensure, education and experience and demonstrating the ability to effectively perform essential job functions.
- AANP or ANCC certification is accepted.
- Flexibility & ability to adapt to different environments (residential, partial hospitalization, and outpatient) is necessary.
- A positive, "can-do" attitude and the ability to be an independent contributor while functioning as a member of a larger team.
