Medical Procedure Scheduler/Prior Auth Rep (Pain Management)

We are a high volume, successful neurosurgery practice requiring dedication and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

What’s required?

• Minimum: twelve months experience in working in a physician practice.
• Ability to work with patients and make them feel comfortable.
• Working knowledge of managed care, commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid and Worker's Compensation.
• Knowledge and understanding of CPT and ICD-10-CM coding for specialty.
• Proficient with practice management software and all Microsoft Office programs.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and in a calm and pleasant manner.

Duties include:

• Scheduling patients for all procedures, including pre-operative tests and clearance for Pain Management Department
• Obtain authorizations/referrals for scheduled procedures and/or surgeries
• Retrieving voicemail messages from patients or referring physician offices
• Verifying new patient insurance eligibility and benefits
• Informing patients of information required at the time of appointment
• Respond to written and telephone inquiries from patients, facilities, or others regarding planned procedures, testing, etc. in a timely manner.
• Confirming procedures, dates, times and changes.
• Communication with the surgery centers.
• Updating templates and schedules as needed.
• Scheduling stat/urgent patients at provider requests.
