Sierra Podiatry Center is seeking a dedicated and friendly Medical Assistant/Receptionist to join our team in providing exceptional patient care and administrative support. As a key member of our small medical practice, you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic, both in the reception area and the patient care area.
Responsibilities:
Reception Area:
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Utilize technology to efficiently schedule appointments and manage patient data.
- Collect co-pays and communicate with the billing office to give accurate financial information to the patient.
- Verify Insurance benefits
- Interact with other medical offices to collect and transmit patient care information.
- Manage busy phone lines, answer patient questions or connect them with the right resource.
Patient Care Area:
- Compile and update patient medical history and relevant information for the doctor's review. This also includes weight, blood pressure, medications and allergies.
- Assist with taking digital X-rays under the guidance of the doctor.
- Aid in minor medical procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Maintain proper sterilization and sanitation protocols for medical instruments and equipment.
- Assist the physician with the flow of patients and direct him through the patient schedule.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a certified medical assistant program or 1 year of medical office experience in both receptionist and medical assisting.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and scheduling software.
- Be willing to adapt as technology changes and we strive for more efficient processes.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
