Application Support Engineer

The Application Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical support for software used in manufacturing processes, ensuring smooth operations, and troubleshooting issues across both internal and external manufacturing equipment, hardware, and software. This role bridges the gap between the manufacturing team and other departments and vendors, ensuring the seamless operation of manufacturing systems and software tools. The candidate must be detail-oriented, have good communication, follow up and writing skills, and be able to perform in a fast-paced NPI environment.   

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Provide Technical Support: Provide real-time support for manufacturing software, hardware, and network issues to ensure minimal downtime in production.
• System Integration & Maintenance: Ensure that all manufacturing software and systems are integrated seamlessly and maintain and update them to meet operational demands.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Act as a liaison between the manufacturing team, other internal departments, and external vendors to ensure effective communication and issue resolution.
• Vendor Management: Coordinate with vendors for equipment software and hardware to resolve issues, apply system updates, and support the integration of new technologies.
• Training and User Support: Provide training for manufacturing staff on the use of software tools, ensuring they are equipped to maximize system functionality.
• System Monitoring: Proactively monitor manufacturing systems to identify potential issues and prevent downtime before it impacts production.
• Documenting Issues and Solutions: Maintain detailed records of system performance, troubleshooting efforts, and solutions to enhance knowledge sharing and streamline future troubleshooting.
• Data Backup & Recovery: Manage and execute routine data backups, ensuring the integrity and recovery of critical manufacturing data.
• Fast-Paced Problem Solving: Perform in a dynamic New Product Introduction (NPI) environment, addressing urgent technical issues with efficiency and accuracy.
• Professionally represent the company to outside vendors, customers, and business partners as needed.  
• Work extended hours based on company needs and be available for after-hour emergency calls.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS - KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS- EXPERIENCE:

• BS in Software or hardware Engineering, or Project /Business Management, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as IT support, technical support, or program manager.
• Understanding of basic software, Knowledge management, Process development, Change Management
• Solid business decision-making abilities and excellent judgment.
• Ability to solve practical problems using pre-established guidelines to deal with situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Strong ability in using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PPT etc.
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills 
• Strong people management skills and ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
• Highly organized and able to work with minimum supervision while maintaining effective time management.  
• Must be flexible to work extended hours based on company needs and be available for after-hour emergency calls.
• Ability to perform at the highest level in a fast-paced environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee must frequently stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The ability to lift 20 lbs., open filing cabinets, and bend, stand, or climb on step ladders as necessary.

ENVIRONMENT:  

-Manufacturing facility with exposure to electronics assembly equipment and materials.

-May require working in a controlled environment with specific temperature and humidity requirements.

-Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to perform work.

Salary range $68,640.00 - $80,000.00 with benefits and perks.
