What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Maintenance Porter position at Sierra Proto Express?
The Janitor is responsible for performing daily housekeeping duties for all Sierra Proto Express facilities to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform daily and weekly housekeeping duties according to the Janitor Task Checklist.
- Complete the Janitor Task Checklist and submit it to the Maintenance & Facilities Manager daily.
- Operator cleaning equipment, i.e. floor scrubber, vacuum, etc..
- Respond to job requisitions as requested or directed by the Maintenance & Facilities Manager promptly.
- Be available for emergency housekeeping requests.
- Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and stand/walk throughout the day.
- Be punctual and maintain good attendance.
- Work schedule may include weekends and late evenings as needed
- Should be able to work in other facility locations
- Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS - KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS- EXPERIENCE:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
- High school diploma preferred.
- 1-2 years experience as a janitor and have attended trainings related to janitorial.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment, i.e. floor scrubber, vacuum, etc.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have good customer service skills with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds and stand/walk throughout the day.
- Ability to perform at the highest level in a fast-paced environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee must frequently stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The ability to lift 25 lbs., open filing cabinets, and bend, stand, or climb on step ladders as necessary.

California Salary Range is $20 - $25 Per hour and Benefits Perks
