SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION:
The Lamination Operator is responsible for processing printed circuit boards (PCB) panels thru various lamination processes according to the travelers or as directed by Supervisors/Managers while following department standard operating procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lamination Operator
- Check traveler for due date, material type, and special request for priority before starting the appropriate process.
- Mic the core thickness of the material.
- Select the correct pins (size) and set plates for laying up the job.
- Verify to make sure that the ID number is written on the plates once the job is laid up and ready for the press.
- Set up the thermal couple prior the loading the panels in the hot press.
- Make sure press is set with the right temperature and PSI.
- Set the correct cycle for the different types of materials.
- Transfer jobs from the hot press to the cold press using the correct procedure.
- Use the Depinner correctly to break down the panels.
- Use the table micrometer to mic out the final thickness.
- Log job status on a computer using the PCB software (ProCim) and complete Non-Conforming Material Report (NCMR) form for all products that are rejected from drilling and/or fabrication process before moving to the next process.
- Assist the department in achieving zero scrap per month.
- Perform daily maintenance on machines and housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Inform Managers (Dry Film & Lamination Manager, Production Manager, etc.) of any potential problems.
- Must follow Protective Prevention Equipment (PPE) guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS - KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS- EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma preferred.
- 2 – 3 years of lamination or similar work experience
- Ability to read and understand technical work instructions.
- Good computer skills and ability to learn new skills and tasks as required.
- Ability to follow procedures and maintain quality of products at all time.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds maximum.
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the day.
- Ability to perform at the highest level in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Exceptional multi-tasking, organizational skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with all levels of management
- Self-motivator and a sense of ownership and urgency.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality & professionalism at all times.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office using Excel, PowerPoint, and Word required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee must frequently stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The ability to lift 20 lbs., open filing cabinets, and bend, stand, or climb on step ladders as necessary.
