ABOUT USSierra Senior Providers, Inc. (SSPI) is dedicated to supporting Tuolumne County seniors by providing essential services that promote independence, enhance quality of life, and enable seniors to remain in their homes. We are seeking a dynamic Executive Director to lead our organization and advance our mission.

JOB SUMMARYLead and manage all aspects of the organization and advance the mission and vision of SSPI. Provide strategic direction and operational management for all programs, activities, and services. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will shape the future of senior services in our community while ensuring organizational excellence and sustainability.

EXPERIENCERequired: Experience in nonprofit management, senior services, or a related field, with skills in program management, budgeting, and staff supervision. Strong written and verbal communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Practice in managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment with the ability to thrive under pressure, adeptly resolve conflicts, prioritize tasks, and follow ideas through to completion.

Preferred: Previous experience working with senior populations and Food Service Management are a plus. Grant writing and management as well as fundraising and event planning are ideal.

EDUCATION

Required: Associate's Degree or 3 years equivalent experience.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree preferred in business or a related field.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Fundraising, Grant Management and Compliance:

Lead comprehensive fund development and grant management initiatives, including fundraising events, mailing campaigns, website promotions, and business partnerships. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and collaborate with Area 12 Agency on Aging (A12AA) to meet contractual obligations and complete required reports. Maintain existing fundraising activities, research new opportunities and explore innovative approaches to maximize our mission’s impact. Leverage external grant writing services with Board approval.

Lead and Inspire a Dynamic Team:

Responsible for screening, hiring, training, and managing all SSPI employees and volunteers while fostering a team environment where members proactively tackle challenges and support one another. Spearhead recruitment, orientation, and training efforts, including A12AA annual training, and retain detailed training documentation. Seize opportunities for professional development to enhance individual and team success. Stay well-versed in labor laws, human resources, and payroll best practices, and update policy handbooks and performance evaluations annually.

Build and Strengthen Community Connections:Foster, and maintain positive relationships with agencies, sponsors, partners, stakeholders, and the public at large. Lead community collaboration to design and nurture diverse activities, programs, and services designed for adults aged 60 , but open to all community members. Coordinate and promote use of the Senior Center for community events and meetings. Represent SSPI in committees and coalitions that champion senior needs such as the Tuolumne County Committee on Aging, A12AA Advisory Council, Senior Network, and more.

Financial Stewardship:Create and manage annual budgets, monitor monthly income and expenditures, and follow best practices to reduce costs and boost revenue. Oversee cash control procedures, including bank deposits, donations, credit card transactions, and petty cash transactions. Provide consistent communication and updates to the Board and proactively address potential budget constraints. Competently prepare and manage annual A12AA budget and ensure contract compliance with monitoring, fiscal audits, and reporting.

Uphold Safety, Security and Facility Standards:Prioritize the well-being and safety of all employees, volunteers, and guests at the Senior Center. Lead risk management and safety meetings, and provide essential evacuation drills, safety, and first aid trainings as required. Regularly update workplace safety plans, policies and procedures and ensure updated recordkeeping and maintenance of delivery vehicles. Oversee facility operations, ensure health department standards, and foster a collaborative relationship with County Facilities Department for maintenance needs.

Promote Marketing and Outreach:Develop engaging marketing and promotion campaigns for fundraising events, senior programs and services and other events using a variety of strategies. Create vibrant social media campaigns and printed marketing materials including program brochures and monthly newsletters. Ensure SSPI website content and social media sites are updated regularly. Coordinate public speaking opportunities to service clubs, agencies, local government, and more to promote SSPI programs and services.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONSOffice is located in the Senior Center, a public facility with a designated professional office area utilizing standard business equipment and practices. Stressful situations may arise when dealing with the public and or personnel issues. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Physical functions may require standing, sitting, walking, bending, pushing, pulling and the ability to life up to 30 pounds. Current driver's license required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
