What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shear Operator position at Sierra Sheet & Plate?
Position Overview:
This position is classified as full-time, Non-Exempt. Typical days and hours of work are Monday to Thursday, (5am to 3pm). This position regularly requires long hours and occasional weekend work.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
Job duties include but are not limited to, measuring, cutting, and preparing various stages of titanium manufacturing. This will include the use of some material handling equipment like vacuum lift hoists. This must be done in a thoughtful and safe manner, in order to yield a quality product. This person is also responsible for maintaining part traceability through the completion of various logs and part followers.
In addition to shear operation the operator will learn the following skills or abilities. Reading and interpretation of rolling work orders, proper PPE use and other safety measures related to crane, electrical, heat and fire. Part measurements and how to adjust when values are out of spec.
REQUIREMENTS:
Required Education, Qualifications & Skills:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
No experience necessary
Must be able to closely follow instructions and reading documents.
Must be able to use tools and instruments to successfully complete task
Must be able to communicate, verbally and written, with managers and coworkers.
Must maintain quality practices and safety standards.
Must be able to work overtime as required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
