Sierra Staffing Group is seeking an experienced Driller for a local water well drilling and pump company. This role requires travel, working throughout California and Nevada, with potential projects in surrounding states. Drillers typically work 7 days per week while on duty, with rotations lasting approximately 3 to 4 weeks before taking time off. Work schedules will vary based on project requirements, so flexibility is essential.
Base hourly wage of $24-30/hour, with total annual compensation typically exceeding $90,000 due to overtime.
What You Will Do
- Operate mud rotary and reverse circulation drilling rigs and related equipment to complete water well drilling projects as directed.
- Mobilize, set up, and tear down drilling equipment between projects.
- Follow project specifications and assist in executing drilling operations efficiently.
- Document and record daily drilling activities, mud properties, lithology or other information as necessary.
- Work closely with the drilling supervisors and leadership to ensure safe and effective drilling practices.
- Maintain and troubleshoot drilling equipment as needed.
- Adhere to all safety and environmental regulations.
Requirements
- Must have an active Nevada driller’s license or the ability to obtain one within 2 years.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. A Class A commercial driver’s license is preferred and compensated accordingly.
- 2 years of relevant drilling experience and a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience operating heavy equipment and familiarity with various drilling techniques, including direct, mud rotary, and/or reverse circulation.
