What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kennel Attendant position at Sierra Veterinary Care?
Kennel staff members have two primary responsibilities at SVC, the cleanliness of the hospital and proper husbandry care of all hospitalized and boarded animals, including feeding, bathing, record keeping and the cleanliness of cages, runs and ward areas. Additionally, the kennel assistant is the veterinary technician’s primary support. They assist in restraining pets and test set up for the examination procedure. They aid the technicians in achieving greater efficiency by relieving them of some of the routine work.
Must be available to work weekends and holidays to be considered for an attendant position.
Physical Effort: Work requires lifting and carrying animals and food bags. Walks or stands for extended periods or time; frequently works in a bent position.
Working conditions:May be exposed to unpleasant odors, noises and animal feces. May be exposed to bites, scratches and contagious diseases.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
