Position Overview Section

Essential Job Functions
- Assist the Principal Investigator in identifying instrumentation that best supports measurement of basic aviation skills and abilities, developing and executing a data collection plan that provides concurrent validation of potential instrumentation, and writing technical reports/briefings to describe progress and outcomes of the work.
- Work closely with Air Education and Training command (Airman Development Command) pilot training instructor pilots and curriculum developers to understand skills and abilities required to be a successful pilot to then apply to the Air Force enlisted and officer aviation classification processes.
Minimum Position Requirements
- Have knowledge in general cognitive psychology and aviation with at least an MS degree in a science, technical, or engineering field. The Contractor shall be able to perform at least Journeyman level responsibilities, for the below tasks, and may be able to provide SME level responsibilities and duties.
- Possess knowledge in perceptual processes and display design
- Possess knowledge in attention and working memory
- Possess knowledge in skill development and transfer of training
- Possess knowledge in decision-making processes
- Possess knowledge in stress and mental workload
- Possess knowledge in individual differences
- Possess knowledge in specific aviation knowledge in simulation and training. Flight procedures, flight control, flight deck displays, crew resource management, human-automation interaction, accident/incident analysis
- Possess knowledge in following skills and abilities: experimental design and statistical analysis and task analysis - in particular, cognitive task analysis
