About This Position
The Festival PR Associate assists in executing press & media outreach strategies for the 2025 Seattle International Film Festival working with the Marketing team to create and execute SIFF’s promotional campaigns, media relations and material coordination to increase regional awareness and attendance.

Dates of Employment: March 17, 2025 - May 25, 2025
Reports to: Associate Director PR & Communications
Compensation: $21/hour
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in organizing and managing press events, screenings, comps, and media outreach for the Seattle International Film Festival
- Assist in managing the Festival Communications Calendar including dates, deadlines, and strategy
- Assist in drafting press releases and general copy for communications and invitations
- Work alongside the Festival PR agency to facilitate talent and filmmaker interviews
- Work with the Marketing Team to upload and maintain digital assets for press
- Document SIFF press clippings and manage reports provided by PR partners. Generally assist in media monitoring and reporting.
- Assist in management of media requests and relations including the management of press@siff.net
- Maintain & update media contact lists in SIFF database
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or currently enrolled student) or equivalent marketing experience
- Strong working knowledge of email marketing applications
- Strong working knowledge of, and best use practices of, social media platforms
- Exceptional ability to be proactive, manage details, and multitask in a fast paced environment
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Passion for, and knowledge of, film and entertainment
Work Environment: Hybrid allowed. This temporary position will work onsite at our Seattle office (SIFF Film Center) and may be required to be onsite for Festival screenings and events at our venues. Remote work is allowed, with schedule agreed upon with supervisor.
