Process Technician

Salary - $70k-$80k

LOCATION: Merced, CA

Perform assignments across the entire range of plant equipment, i.e. Injection Molding and Assembly. Check operation of equipment to meet plant or department requirements. Diagnose and determine root causes of problems, make corrections, repair or replace units as necessary. Discuss findings and/or results with department personnel, develop solutions to problems and provide a basis on which corrections are made. Make recommendations concerning changes to equipment, improvements or installations and upkeep based on findings. Assist other process technicians, engineering, and sales as necessary. Backup Tooling Technician or Department Manager/Supervisor fulfills the responsibilities of this role when vacant.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Communicate to supervisor modification adjustments for correction.

• Able to understand and work with blueprints for equipment repairs.
• Interface with plant personnel and other process technicians / engineers.
• Ensure that proper components and tools are always utilized.
• Troubleshoot Electro/Mechanical/Pneumatic issues.
• Wire motors and troubleshoot electrical devices.
• Adhere to safety programs and good housekeeping for all designated areas.
• Installation of New and Old equipment
• Must be willing to work around plant production and maintenance schedules
• Ability to supervise in house projects as well as perform technical lead roles.
• Obtain quotes for Services, Submitting Requisitions
• Troubleshoot and repair Molding Issues
• Developing and Modifying Injection Molding Processes.
• Ability to train others in Fitments and Maintenance is a must.
• Support TWI training activities including delivery of practical exams.
• Create, revise and update SOCs and SOPs for Fitments Department.

You Bring These Skills, Experience & Education

EDUCATION:

• High School Diploma
  
  

WORK EXPERIENCE AND/OR SKILLS:

• 5 to 10 years in a manufacturing environment is required.
• Prior experience with Injection Molding and Automated combining machines.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office required
• Ability to learn and adapt to ERP systems.
• The ability to excel in a fast paced, high-energy environment with constant interface with people
• ACAD / Solid works engineering programs preferred
• Computer literate and strong knowledge of Microsoft office software
• Electro/mechanical/pneumatic background on automated machines preferred.
• Ability to identify need for contracted support of PLC’s/microprocessors during troubleshooting.
• Stainless Steel Welding and Fabrication a plus
• Equipment building and prototyping a plus
• Ability to work with and understand AC and DC voltage
• Troubleshoot all aspects of maintenance in an Industrial Manufacturing Business.
