Overview: The Senior Production Planner/Analyst will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and timely production of goods while optimizing inventory levels and minimizing production costs. This role requires a combination of analytical skills, detailed knowledge of production processes, and strong collaboration with cross-functional teams such as contract manufacturing partners, procurement, and logistics. The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving abilities and be able to make data-driven decisions that enhance productivity and streamline operations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain production plans, ensuring alignment with demand forecasts and inventory targets
- Monitor production schedules, ensuring adherence to timelines and identifying potential delays or issues
- Analyze production capacity and lead-time constraints, optimizing resources and workflows to meet production goals
- Work closely with procurement and/or contract manufacturing partner to ensure raw materials and components are available when needed for production
- Work with R&D and Manufacturing Engineering to identify suppliers for upcoming projects and sustaining activities
- Use forecasting tools and methodologies to predict future demand and adjust production plans accordingly
- Review and analyze key production metrics (e.g., throughput, yield, waste, and downtime) to improve production processes
- Provide regular reports and updates on production status, including inventory levels, lead times, and any potential supply chain disruptions
- Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and waste reduction in the production cycle
- Collaborate with the engineering and quality assurance teams to resolve any production issues or bottlenecks
- Manage and track production performance and efficiency, suggesting corrective actions when required
- Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) to enhance production processes
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 13485)
- Develop and maintain KPIs for supply chain metrics
- Lead SIOP (Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning) with Commercial and Finance partners
Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5 years of experience in production planning, supply chain management, or related fields
- Strong understanding of production/business processes, inventory management, and supply chain operations
- Experience in medical device contract manufacturing or other regulated contract manufacturing industries
- Strong proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Power BI, etc.)
- Experience in developing and optimizing production schedules and managing inventory control processes
- Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and generate actionable insights
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well under pressure with limited guidance and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to find creative solutions with limited information or tools
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus
- Experience with ERP or MRP systems
- Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), Supply Chain, or a related field
- Experience with working with 3PL (third party logistics providers)
- Certification in production and inventory management or equivalent (e.g., CPIM, APICS)
- Customs or brokerage experience is a plus

For California, the base salary range for this position is $115,000-$156,000 (highly qualified) a year. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs.
