The Security Trainer will provide training to all new employees and current employees in all areas related to Security. The Security Trainer will also support the mission of Sight & Sound by serving our guests, visitors, and co-workers through stewarding of facility and property.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Actively promote and exemplify a culture that upholds our mission, values, and safety statements.
- Provide leadership, instill a passion for security, and foster a positive work environment through mentoring and training of team members, recognizing each person's strengths and capitalizing on them.
- Coordinate, oversee and complete any Security training needed for new hires, as well as keeping all employees updated on any changes to existing Security policies, procedures, and plans.
- Create a cohesive and consistent process for training between both Lancaster and Branson.
- Plan and administer annual training for the Security team.
- Stay current with industry standards and Homeland Security policies and procedures and partner with counterpart to update training documents/manuals and communicate accordingly.
- Maintain a close working relationship with the Sight & Sound Safety Manager and be an active member of the Sight & Sound Safety Committee.
- Steward our facility and property by maintaining an alert onsite presence, with visible interior and exterior rounds.
- Serve fellow workers by monitoring and taking appropriate actions to threats affecting life
or property. - Maintain skill training, neat appearance, and positive cordial relationships with Sight & Sound staff and with local public safety entities (fire, police, outside security contractors).
- All other duties as assigned.
Prerequisites:
- Excellent communication, organizational skills, and planning skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Outgoing, personable, likable, approachable, and even-tempered
- Ability to implement and develop standard operating procedures
- Ability to respond calmly, rationally, and with discernment in a stressful environment
- Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision.
- Computer literate and competent use of Microsoft Office software, ability to operate various electronic equipment such as security cameras, fire, burglar, CO2 alarm systems, and basic facility systems (i.e., generators).
- Available to work all shifts and travel occasionally for training
- Able to discreetly handle confidential information.
- Current PA Act 235 Certification (PA) / MO Guard Card (MO)
- Valid Concealed Carry Permit
- Must have a valid driver’s license
Other Skills and / or Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug screening. Must be able to annually meet minimum physical requirements including: pass a physical exam by a medical doctor; have uncorrected vision of at least 20/70 in one eye and 20/200 in the other; have corrected vision of at least 20/20 in one eye and 20/40 in the other; pass a hearing examination (permitted to use hearing aid); pass a psychological examination administered by a licensed psychologist; and have no conviction of a disqualifying criminal offense.
- Must be able to pass a post-offer physical fitness assessment
- Must be able to annually (1) pass a physical exam, including vision and hearing; (2) pass a drug & alcohol screening; (3) meet with Human Resources for a general wellbeing check, a psychological screening will be required if there is reasonable cause; and (4) pass a background check. Lancaster employees must maintain a current PA ACT 235 certification. Branson employees must maintain the ability to demonstrate the equivalent competencies required by the PA ACT 235.
