Responsibilities include:
- Assist with the maintenance of an orderly and clean work environment to include all grounds and facilities work areas.
- As directed, effectively maintain department operating systems.
- Assist with building maintenance as assigned.
- Assist in obtaining or performing vehicle maintenance activities.
- Support building maintenance activities including but not limited to HVAC, alarm systems, stage ramps and hydraulics, electric generators, equipment, and structural integrity, plumbing, electrical, etc.
- Sustain a clean, neat, safe, secure, properly functioning work area, building and equipment.
- Ensure the efficient and prompt handling of all department work orders and requests.
- Document and maintain records of inspections and work performed pursuant to departmental policies and warranty/vendor requirements.
- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
- Employee may be required to use equipment such as aerial lifts, forklifts, and scissors lifts.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum High School diploma and / or 5 years maintenance experience required.
- Expansive knowledge of selected maintenance systems needed to perform installations, preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on one or more functional areas.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills along with ability to work well with internal team members and external contractors.
- This position will be required to work a varied on-call schedule that may include evenings, nights, and weekends.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to: stand frequently, walk frequently, run occasionally, position self on top of or underneath objects occasionally, including stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, balance occasionally, ascend and descend ladders occasionally, communicate and converse with others frequently, transport objects and/or exert force up to 50 pounds frequently, seldom up to 100 pounds, observe details at a close range, detect color, detect peripheral objects, determine depth, and have the ability to adjust focus between close range and distant objects.
This position may require the operation of heavy equipment, small machinery, power tools, along with the occasional use of office productivity equipment such as computers.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to:
moving mechanical parts, odors, fumes, aerosols, airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, work around animals, high, precarious places, dust off from building materials, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather, including sun, rain, snow, extreme heat and cold, wet or humid conditions (non-weather), and noise levels that are usually moderate.
