Sightline Hospitality is looking for a laundry assistant (full-time) for the soon-to-open Boutique Hotel in Moab, Utah.

Moab offers unparalleled access to outdoor resources, including Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, the Colorado River, Dead Horse Point State Park, and the Manti-La Sal National Forest. Moab has become a mecca for hiking, mountain biking, off roading, rafting, kayaking, astronomy, geology and natural history and nature photography. The hotel is completing a multimillion-dollar renovation of Motel 6 Moab into an advanced-design luxury boutique hotel aimed at outdoor and adventure-seeking guests who prefer a unique and authentic hospitality experience. The rooms are being completely renovated to a 4 star specification level. The lobby and pool area are being substantially improved and are being completely repositioned to include a full bar and café and activated indoor and outdoor common areas.

Essential functions of the job:
- Receive dirty lines by bag, cart or ramp from floors. Sort all items by type, color, and soil grade. Inspect all bedding and record all damaged or stained items.
- Operate washers and dryers according to recommended capacity and other manufacturers' guidelines. Make sure the necessary chemicals are added in the correct amounts before washing cycles.
- Fold clean sheets and store them as appropriate. Operate the clothes feeder, sheet folder, towel folder and table linens ironing machines.
- Report necessary repairs or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
- Monitor and control supplies, and minimize waste within laundry facilities.
- Sort and record discarded clothing into categories. Report damage or loss of clothing to the supervisor.
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
- You can help with other tasks assigned to you.
- Complete shift checklists and assigned special projects.
- Be available to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Be thoroughly familiar with the hotel's emergency procedures and provide calm and reassuring assistance to guests and co-workers in the event of an emergency.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Immediately report all suspicious occurrences and dangerous conditions.
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas at all times.
- Follow all company safety regulations, including proper handling of equipment to avoid injury to yourself and others.
- Attend all mandatory meetings as directed.
- To perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.
Experience/Essential Requirements
- Graduated from high school or equivalent vocational training.
- Some laundry experience and the ability to speak some English is preferred.
Desired skills/aptitudes:
- Communication skills are used when interacting with other employees and supervisors.
- Reading and writing skills and basic math skills are used when determining the amounts of chemicals to treat clothing and stains and recording appropriate weight.
- You must be punctual with regular and reliable assistance.
- It may be necessary to work evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
Essential physical skills:
- Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 75 pounds and pushing and/or pulling approximately 400 pounds
- Standing up and moving around the work area frequently
- Frequent handling of objects and equipment to maintain the facility
- Frequently crouching, bending, and kneeling
- Work frequently in high-temperature areas around heavy equipment
- Ability to push or pull a vacuum cleaner and wheeled carts weighing up to 100 pounds.
