Position Summary: As the Benefits Manager, you will play a critical role in shaping and managing the benefits strategy for the organization. You will oversee the full spectrum of employee benefits programs, ensuring their alignment with company goals and compliance with regulatory requirements. This includes managing key programs such as health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement, and other vital employee benefits. You will also lead and manage a team to ensure the smooth and efficient administration of these programs, providing employees with a seamless experience and promoting a culture focused on well-being and satisfaction.
Job Duties & Essential Functions:
- Manage, mentor, and develop staff within the benefits department to ensure effective team performance.
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of all employee benefits programs, including health, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of benefits enrollments in the HRIS, providing vendors with correct eligibility data.
- Distribute benefits enrollment materials and determine employee eligibility.
- Manage employee enrollments with carriers and process life status changes promptly.
- Address benefits-related inquiries and resolve issues from employees and managers regarding plan provisions, enrollments, status changes, and other general concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Oversee and respond to 401(k) inquiries, including enrollments, plan modifications, contribution amounts, and manage the annual catch-up contribution enrollment process.
- Supervise the administration of all leave-of-absence requests and related disability paperwork, including medical, personal, disability, and FMLA.
- Apply expert knowledge of FMLA and ADA regulations to ensure accurate interpretation and compliance concerning leaves of absence and disabilities.
- Provide detailed reports for benefit allocation and billing charges.
- Manage EDI files and perform manual data entry for benefit codes and deductions with precision.
- Assist in payroll processing by supporting various activities related to benefits management.
- Contribute to special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 4 years of experience in benefits administration, with a proven track record of success.
- 1 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role, demonstrating strong leadership capabilities.
- Extensive knowledge of employee benefits programs and applicable laws in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with an ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS).
- SHRM-CP certification.
- Experience with UKG or similar HRIS platforms.
Work Schedule:
- Monday - Friday
- Hybrid work environment
Salary Range:
- $95,000 – $105,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
