About the role
We are looking for a technically skilled and developer-focused writer to join the Sigma technical writing team and play a key role in transforming complex technical concepts into comprehensive, effective documentation for our customer developer and admin audiences. Your natural curiosity, resourcefulness, and adaptability will be your greatest assets. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can seamlessly manage multiple tasks, communicate effectively, and excel in our fast-paced environment.
In this role, you will actively engage with technical pods, collaborating closely with Product Managers, Engineering, and Design teams throughout the entire product development lifecycle. You will be pivotal in crafting documentation that supports engineering teams releasing updates frequently. Your proactive identification of documentation gaps and commitment to improving our documentation culture will be instrumental in creating exceptional resources for our customers.
What you will be doing
- Take ownership of an existing set of technical guidance aimed at developers and admins implementing Sigma's software and use data, feedback from customer-facing teams, and your judgment to rearchitect it for quality and effectiveness.
- Work closely with the development team (including engineers, designers, and product managers) throughout the development process to understand features and functionality at the level of a subject matter expert and produce clear and effective customer-facing documentation and release notes.
- Explore and validate product features through rigorous testing, sharing insights with the team.
- Create and maintain sample applications that integrate with developer- and admin-focused product features and use them to create code samples and step-by-step tutorials.
- Collaborate with engineering teams in github by submitting and reviewing pull requests in both engineering and documentation repositories.
- Develop visually captivating, dynamic documentation that includes diagrams, screenshots, and other visual aids.
- Work collaboratively and closely with other writers to ensure consistent and cohesive content, style, and messaging.
- Develop value driven materials that articulate practical use cases and demonstrate the benefits of key features, bridging functionality with real world application.

Additional Job details
The base salary range for this position is $140,000 - $160,000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work at Sigma Computing. This role is eligible for stock options, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
