Job Description

Sigma Defense is seeking a talented Cloud Network Administrator for the Training and Operational Readiness Information Services (TORIS) program at Afloat Training Group, Pacific, San Diego, CA. TORIS is the authoritative software program for managing surface ship training and readiness. As a Cloud Network Administrator, you will be responsible for the management, maintenance, and optimization of the program network infrastructure as well as providing system administration support for engineering team. Your primary focus will be ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of the program, while also supporting the program during migration to AWS and future cloud-based network administration. This role requires a strong understanding of networking concepts, experience with cloud architectures, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues.

Requirements

Experience as a network administrator with experience in AWS cloud environments.
Strong knowledge of networking protocols, architectures, and security principles.
Experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies.
Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers; understanding of virtualization technologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues.

Personnel Clearance Level :

Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Clearance will be sponsored for the right candidate.

Educational Requirements :

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology or related field of study.

Equivalent work experience will substitute educational requirement.

Essential Job Duties (not all-inclusive) :

Monitor and maintain network performance, ensuring optimal connectivity and reliability.

Implement and enforce network security measures, including access controls, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.

Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams as necessary.

Work closely with data center cloud engineers to support program migration to AWS cloud offering.

Perform regular program infrastructure performance assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.

Investigate and troubleshoot network incidents, diagnosing and resolving problems in a timely manner; conduct root cause analysis for network-related outages and performance issues.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.

Provide recommendations for network infrastructure enhancements and optimizations.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including analysts, developers, and security professionals, to ensure seamless integration of network infrastructure.

Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to network administration and hybrid cloud deployments.

Salary Range : $90,000 - $110,000 annually.
