Technical Advisor - Electrical and Instrumentation
The Technical Advisor - Electrical and Instrumentation is responsible for the successful planning, execution, quality control, documentation, and completion of field installation and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation projects. This role involves overseeing a team of instrument technicians, coordinating with other project stakeholders, and ensuring adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and project timelines.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of a team of instrument technicians, ensuring efficient and effective execution of tasks.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to team members.
- Manage team performance, address issues, and maintain a positive work environment.
- Develop and implement detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
- Coordinate with project engineers, site managers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify compliance with project requirements.
- Implement quality control measures to prevent defects and ensure project success.
- Possess a strong understanding of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Stay up to date with industry advancements and emerging technologies.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to the team.
- Prioritize safety and ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations.
- Conduct safety training and enforce safety protocols.
- Investigate and report safety incidents, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Prepare and submit regular project reports, including progress updates, issues, and recommendations.
- Track project costs and expenditures, ensuring adherence to budget constraints.
WHO WE NEED:
- Certification in electrical, instrumentation, or control systems engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems, with experience on turbomachinery equipment.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and leading field installation and commissioning projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems, including hardware, software, and communication protocols.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with various stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or related electrical technical program.
- Experience with specific turbomachinery equipment types (e.g., gas turbines, steam turbines, compressors).
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., AutoCAD, PLC programming software).
- Willingness to travel to project sites, often for extended periods.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including outdoor settings.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
