Job Title: Pharmacy Technician
This position is available at a hospital in Monticello, IL. We are seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to work on a 13 weeks contract basis.
Responsibilities
- Accurately perform daily billing reconciliation against dispensing records.
- Assist in the efficient operation of the inpatient pharmacy department and participate in relevant activities. Provide suggestions for the development and operation of the pharmacy, collaborating with other staff/administration.
- Take a leadership role in inventory management, ordering drugs and supplies through wholesale accounts, managing stock storage, and monitoring backorders and drug shortages.
- Maintain accurate records and complete all documentation according to policy and regulations.
- Monitor the routine inventory control of controlled medications and complete required documentation.
- Respond to requests from other departments in a respectful and timely manner.
- Accurately fill medication orders/requisitions, ensuring proper storage and security, and completing necessary documentation.
- Complete inter-departmental billing monthly and assist with monthly unit inspections.
- Maintain competencies by attending training opportunities and completing computer-based learning assignments.
- Perform other duties or projects assigned by supervisor.
Education and Experience
- SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF A PHARMACY TECHNICIAN PROGRAM FROM AN ACCREDITED PROGRAM REQUIRED.
- PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE AS A PHARMACY TECHNICIAN A PLUS.
- SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE OF PHARMACEUTICALS, PHARMACY PRACTICES, AND PROPER STORAGE AND USAGE OF DRUGS PREFERRED.
