Sigma Healthcare Staffing is looking for an experienced Pharmacy Technician for our client's hospital in Monticello, IL
Responsibilities
- Accurately perform daily billing reconciliation against dispensing records.
- Assist in the efficient operation of the inpatient pharmacy department; actively participate in relevant department activity; provide suggestions on the development and operation of the pharmacy. Collaborate with other staff / administration in the operations and management of the department.
- Take a leadership role in inventory management. Orders drugs and supplies through wholesale accounts. Manages the receiving, storage, and rotating of stock to maintain appropriate inventory levels. Monitors backorders, drug shortages and completes returns.
- Monitor and maintain medication expiration dates throughout the facility
- Maintain accurate records, complete all documentation and file according to policy and regulations.
- Monitor the routine inventory control of all controlled medications complying with all regulatory and compliance agencies and completes all required documentation.
- Respond to requests by other departments in a respectful and timely manner
- Accurately and in a timely manner fill medication orders / requisitions. This involves ensuring proper storage and security and completing all necessary documentation.
- Complete inter-departmental billing monthly.
- Assists department in completing monthly unit inspections.
- Maintain competencies by attending departmental training opportunities and completing assignments in computer based learning programs
- Perform other duties or projects as assigned by supervisor.
