Qualifications / Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field of study or five (5) years of directly related job experience combined with formal training needed for the position
  • IATF 16949 Lead Auditor Training for Automotive Quality Management Systems
  • Minimum of 5 years of automotive experience developing IATF program and document control systems.
  • Lead Auditor Certification in IATF
  • Demonstrate oral and written communications skills as well as maintain strong organizational skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Working knowledge of OEM and Tier 1 supplier portals in obtaining monthly scorecard information

Responsibilities

  • As our Quality Systems Manager, you will facilitate, create and maintain IATF certification and provide continuous improvement to support QMS and IATF system requirements.
  • This role is hands on! It involves creating and maintaining internal and external compliance with various audit programs, including Layered Audits, internal audits, customer audits/assessments, supplier audits, environmental audits, and third-party audits to ensure compliance
  • You will work in partnership with Manufacturing, Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality to design and enhance the Quality Management System to facilitate overall regulatory compliance and conformity to IATF 16949

· Your responsibilities will include developing, editing, and maintaining Quality Control documentation of production processes, as well as developing and maintaining internal audit plans and schedules based on the importance of activities and areas designated as higher-risk.

· You will oversee the training and development of the internal auditing team, including the Internal Auditor Competency Matrix, and ensure compliance through both Product and Process Audits

· Additionally, you will set up meetings with the Leadership Team to review any regulatory requirements that require Senior Management Approval

· This position is critical in ensuring that Technicians meet its quality standards and regulatory obligations

· Facilitates the maintenance and continual improvement of the QMS Systems and supports the IATF System Requirement

Sigma Machine works in the electric vehicle manufacturing industry. With a focus on stainless steel and aluminum machining we have just under 100 employees working two shifts, five days per week.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service.
  • Plex (ERP) experience preferred
  • Investigate (and correct) customer issues and complaints relating to quality.
  • Supervise workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity.
  • Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products.
  • Provide technical and statistical expertise to teams.
  • Formulate, document, and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives.
  • Coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with plant management to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
  • Create, document, and implement inspection criteria and procedures.
  • Interpret quality control philosophy to key personnel within the company.
  • Provide, and oversee, inspection activity for product throughout production cycle.
  • Implement and apply total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes.
  • Interact with vendors to ensure quality of all purchased parts.
  • Maintain an active role on internal continuous improvement teams.
  • Design, develop and implement quality control training programs.
  • Identifies critical points in the manufacturing process and defines sampling procedures, when needed.
  • Interact regularly with Engineering, Manufacturing, and service functions to establish quality standards for raw material, work in process and finished products.
  • Recommends proper testing processes for new product development until the process meets design specifications.
  • Tests current process changes that would result in increased efficiency, reduced scrap or reduced costs to ensure the product meets quality standards.
  • Prepare and organize for any audits. Addresses non-conformities from previous internal and external audits. Follows up on pending preventative and corrective action items.
  • Conducts managements review of the quality system.
  • Ensures that documentation and design controls are appropriate for organization.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Normal work environment - office, factory and store room with minimal exposure to noise, odors, dust and drafts. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; balance and stoop; and push pull, transfer, move, lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally 35 lbs. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
