POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager of Area Sales is responsible for the sale of products in a defined geographical area, and for the development and execution of sales plans, targets and budgets within the overall regional and business unit sales strategy. This position is responsible for supporting sales representatives and key account colleagues in the management of key client relationships, and in the negotiation of contracts with key customers. Responsibilities also include building area sales capability, and for the overall management and motivation of the area sales team.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Direct and manage all broker activity
- Bookings, Order Entry, A/R management
- Identify and communicate to Director all expansion opportunities for assigned accounts
- Implement assigned Major Objectives at all accounts
- Develop Marketing Strategy to ensure Brand success
- Direct, manage, and train Sales Representatives and Merchandisers assigned to Area
- Maintain a price structure consistent with the approved company price list
- Manage all expenses per the account assigned annual plan
- Manage all administrative responsibilities for assigned accounts as listed:
- Represent Sigma as the primary contact for assigned accounts
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior category management experience using market data
- Broker management experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA’s)
- Ability to self- motivate and possess independent problem solving
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills with attention to detail
- Ability to develop effective customer presentations
- Excellent presentation skills
- Effective relationship building skills
- Strong communication and listening skills
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS
- This position is for the Georgia or Alabama area
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Usual office environment with frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office machinery. Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone.
COMPENSATION
- Depending on geography, skills, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
- This position is eligible for an incentive bonus, based on achievements of company targets and individual performance expectations
