POSITION SUMMARY
Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical). Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve efficiency, capability, and yield.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment and systems.
- Adjust or replace worn or defective mechanisms and parts and reassemble repaired systems.
- Inspect maintenance systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems.
- Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring.
- Prepares technical reports to document preventative maintenance issues.
- Performs equipment failure analyses (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance)
- Maintains and secures a spare parts inventory, recommends purchasing of maintenance equipment and supplies as required to improve processes and efficiencies.
- Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve efficiency, capability and yield.
- Observe and test system operation, using gauges and instruments.
- Adjust or replace worn or defective mechanisms and parts and reassemble repaired systems.
- Assists higher-level technicians.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure, meet deadlines, present a professional demeanor and work well independently and within a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, 1st, 2nd and/or 3rd shifts.
- Ability to work in temperature conditions between 35- and 95-degrees Fahrenheit; may occasionally exceed 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Regularly required to stand, use hands and fingers in a repetitive motion.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, and reach above the head.
- The employee is occasionally required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear.
- The employee is required to lift a minimum of ten (10) lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals and fumes or airborne particles.
- The noise level in the work environment ranges from normal office levels to loud factory / warehouse levels.
