POSITION SUMMARY
Supervise and provide direction & guidance to production employees. Monitors performance of production equipment and performs maintenance at assigned plant.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Supervise production activities including but not limited to coordinating activities of workers engaged in processing and/or the development of a product or a service; provides production reports to assist process improvement.
- Coordinate work schedules, staffing requirements, and production sequences to maximize productivity; may recruit, hire, train staff, evaluate employee performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.
- Maintains inventory records and requisitions ingredients/supplies as necessary to meet delivery schedules; evaluates materials and products to maintain organization standards.
- Troubleshoots and resolves process, equipment, and material issues in conjunction with machine operators and support personnel.
- Double-checks, ensures accuracy, and finalizes production paperwork including but not limited to production reports, work order documentation, safety and sanitation documents, and quality records.
- Coach and counsel associates while coordinating and enforcing process controls, policies, and procedures; trains new workers in operation of equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- HS Diploma, GED or equivalent
- One (1) year production experience or a combination of leadership and production experience
- One (1) year leadership experience, or relevant Sigma experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Two (2) years production experience
- Two (2) years leadership experience
- Knowledge of Food Safety practices (HACCP, GMPs, SOPs, SSOPs, and SQF)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITITES (KSA’s)
- Ability to become forklift/pallet jack certified.
- Ability to understand Quality Standards, SSOP’s, applicable Pre-requisite programs, and HACCP.
- Proficient with Microsoft office, including skills with Outlook, Word and Excel
- The ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure, meet deadlines, present a professional demeanor, and work well independently and within a team environment.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, 1st, 2nd and/or 3rd shifts.
- Ability to work in temperature conditions between 35 and 95 degrees; may occasionally exceed 95 degrees.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers in a repetitive motion. Frequently required to stand, walk, and reach above the head. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear. The employee is required to lift a minimum of ten (10) lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment ranges from normal office levels to loud factory / warehouse levels.
COMPENSATION
- Depending on geography, skills, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
- This position is eligible for an incentive bonus, based on the achievements of company targets and individual performance expectations.
