POSITION SUMMARY
Monitor and update quality systems for incoming raw materials, production, and products; ensure compliance to all regulatory, customer, and company requirements; direct, develop, train, and supervise the Quality Assurance Technicians involved in inspection and quality control procedures to ensure that all quality standards are being followed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
· Implement quality control objectives; coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other managers to maximize quality and reliability and to minimize costs.
· Ensures that all quality assurance forms are completed in accordance with company policies.
· Manage receiving program, including testing and standards definition for incoming raw materials.
· Execute effective methods to measure quality among various levels throughout the department(s); recommend process improvements; plan, promote, and organize training activities related to quality and reliability.
· Performs daily walk-through of all departments to ensure, housekeeping, and food handling practices meet compliance; drive plant improvement by providing proactive solutions to issues that will support facility operations staff in achieving Quality and Safety goals.
· Provides guidance in handling customer complaints to ensure they are handled and resolved appropriately.
· Analyzes and document department metrics; provide timely, accurate, and relevant data and analysis to enable them to effectively manage the business.
· May manage and coordinate the quality assurance department; may recruit, hire, train staff, evaluate employee performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers and disciplinary action.
· Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· HS Diploma, GED or equivalent
· One (1) year leadership experience
· One (1) year quality assurance experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Two (2) years leadership experience
· Two (2) years quality assurance experience
· Knowledge of Food Safety practices (HACCP, GMPs, SOPs, SSOPs, and SQF)
· Bilingual (Spanish and English)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITITES (KSA’s)
· Ability to understand Quality Standards, SSOP’s, applicable Pre-requisite programs, and HACCP.
· Strong troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
· The ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure, meet deadlines, present a professional demeanor, and work well independently and within a team environment.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS
· Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, 1st, 2nd and/or 3rd shifts.
· Ability to work in temperature conditions between 35- and 95-degrees Fahrenheit; may occasionally exceed 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers in a repetitive motion. Frequently required to stand, walk and reach above the head. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear. The employee is required to lift a minimum of ten (10) lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment ranges from normal office levels to loud factory / warehouse levels.
COMPENSATION
· Depending on geography, skills, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
· This position is eligible for an incentive bonus, based on achievements of company targets and individual performance expectations.
