Assistant Facility Security Officer

Sigmatech, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Facility Security Officer/ Security Program Specialist (AFSO/SPS) to manage security operations for their facility in Arlington, VA.

The AFSO/SPS will report to the Corporate FSO in Huntsville, AL. The AFSO/SPS will implement DoD procedures for classified document control, visitor control, personnel security, and physical security. The AFSO/SPS will supervise and direct security measures necessary for implementing applicable requirements of the NISPOM, and related Federal requirements, and will revise and/or update personnel activities including annual security training and personnel clearance levels. In this pivotal position you will manage security operations, including access control, admin systems, video surveillance, and other office functions as required.

Responsibilities include:

• Oversees support during the standup of SCIF operations at Sigmatech's Crystal City office.
• Conduct personnel security actions and security reviews in accordance with applicable security classification guides.
• Provide classification management and classification marking guidance as needed.
• Provide security support for meetings/conferences to include clearing attendee lists prior to meetings and checking attendees at the meetings or teleconferences.
• Prepare and submit requests for initial Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) indoctrinations to appropriate government offices.
• Prepare and process visit requests (CONUS and OCONUS) for travelers from the organization
• Interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff. Will also routinely interact with other team members.
• Conduct new employee initial security briefings that include Insider Threat Awareness, defense security, DoD security classification, reporting obligations and requirements, and security procedures and duties applicable to the employee's job.
• Support the Government in the submission of the DD Form 254.
• Capture personnel fingerprints and submit results electronically for processing new clearances.
• Conduct self-audits and coordinate with DCSA to facilitate inspections and audits of security programs and systems.
• Conduct briefings on the proper handling of NATO and CNWDI access to classified information.
• Coordinate with other Sigmatech security personnel as needed to assist with security support to Sigmatech contracts.

Required:

• Top Secret clearance with SCI Eligibility
• High School Diploma (bachelor’s degree preferred)
• Minimum 5 years' experience in Security related field (FSO/AFSO/Security Specialist)
• Demonstrated understanding and expertise in security
• Working knowledge of Government security databases associated with industrial security, including DISS/NBIS, NISS, APACS, and ACCS (personnel clearance management, reports, visit requests, etc.).
• Must possess FSO Orientation for Possessing Facilities from CDSE.
• Working knowledge of security requirements
• Demonstrated initiative and ability to plan, work and deliver independently
• Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational, oral presentation and executive writing skills
• Intermediate to expert level computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs. Working knowledge of advanced software applications is preferred.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge and familiarity with current Defense Department efforts in space
• Firm understanding of NISPOM requirements.
• NRO security experience a plus.
• Experience supporting DoD, Service HQ, or DoD Agency.
• Experience/familiarization with SIMS Security Data Management
• A current NCMS Industrial Security Professional (ISP) Certification and/or current SPeD certification(s) is a plus
