Position Overview
The CNC Routing role at SignCrafters is responsible for operating and maintaining CNC routing equipment to cut various substrates accurately and efficiently. This position plays a key role in the production process, ensuring high-quality output while minimizing material waste. The CNC Routing role reports directly to the Lead Production role.
Key Responsibilities
Material Cutting and Machine Operation:
- Operate CNC routers to cut a variety of substrates with precision.
- Select appropriate router bits based on material type and thickness.
- Determine and set proper feeds and speeds for different materials.
Technical Setup and Software Utilization:
- Use FlexiSIGN, CruzArt, and MACH4 for job setup and execution.
- Understand G Code (preferred but not required) for troubleshooting and adjustments.
- Load and adjust routing files to ensure accuracy in cutting.
Machine Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose and address machine errors to minimize downtime.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC routing equipment.
- Monitor tool wear and replace router bits as needed to maintain quality cuts.
Quality Control and Efficiency:
- Ensure cuts meet project specifications and quality standards.
- Minimize material waste through precise cutting and careful planning.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely project completion.
Performance and Productivity Expectations
Success in the CNC Routing role is measured by:
- Accuracy and quality of routed components.
- Efficient material usage and waste reduction.
- Effective troubleshooting and minimal machine downtime.
- Communication and coordination with the Lead Production role and other team members.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience operating CNC routers in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of different materials, their thicknesses, and cutting requirements.
- Knowledge of feeds and speeds for various materials.
- Proficiency in FlexiSIGN, CruzArt, and MACH4 software.
- Basic understanding of G Code (preferred but not required).
- Ability to diagnose and resolve machine errors efficiently.
Software Requirements
- FlexiSIGN – Used for preparing cutting files.
- CruzArt – Used for designing and managing cutting paths.
- MACH4 – Utilized for controlling CNC router operations.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
