What are the responsibilities and job description for the Educatinal American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter Needed in Charles County, MD position at Sign Language USA, LLC?
SLUSA is looking for a Qualified and/or Certified Interpreter for an Educational Interpreting opportunity in the Charles County Public Schools area.
We're looking for someone to work with a Full-Time Student in Waldorf, MD. School hours are 9:30 am to 4 pm (Monday through Friday depending on the schools calander). You will need to be finger printed for this assignment.
Pay is based on qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Provide accurate interpretation of spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa during classes.
- Facilitate clear communication between deaf and hearing individuals, ensuring understanding and engagement.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while interpreting sensitive information.
- Collaborate with other interpreters and professionals to enhance service delivery.
- Continuously improve language skills and stay updated on ASL developments and cultural nuances.
Qualifications
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation
- Experience in translation and linguistics
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Certification in ASL interpretation or related field is a plus
- Ability to work effectively in diverse environments
