Sign Shop Assistant

Sign Pro in Midvale is seeking a reliable and motivated Sign Shop Production Assistant to join our team. As a production assistant , you will play a crucial role in assisting with various tasks in our production facility. This is a hands-on position that requires mechanical knowledge and the ability to work with large equipment, power and hand tools. Responsibilities:

• Operate large format printer, laminator, vinyl plotter, router
• Cutting and preparing vinyl graphics
• Weed and transfer tape vinyl graphics
• Layout for banners, stickers, posters, and signs of all kinds
• Prepare and apply vinyl to different substrates
• Finishing banners: hem tape and grommet
• Laminate printed vinyl graphics
• Formatting files for printing, cutting, routing
• Creation of designs (signs, forms, logos)
• Send proofs to clients
• Housekeeping
• Customer service
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite particularly Illustrator. preferred
• Ability to multitask, be resourceful, prioritize workload, manage time effectively and adapt to changing situations. required
• Excellent spelling and grammar, verbal and basic math skills. required
• Initiative, self-management, self-reliance; a sense of responsibility and ownership towards the job. required
• High School graduate or GED certificate. required
• Associates degree in Graphics Design related field or proven design experience. preferred
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations required
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision required
• Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions required
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of people required
• Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job required
