What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Specialist position at Signal Centers?
The Purchasing Specialist supports the overall function of the accounting department by managing procurement processes and ensuring compliance with federal and state audits, requirements, and regulations. This role involves coordinating purchases, maintaining accurate records, and assisting in financial operations to ensure efficiency and compliance.
Qualifications:
- Must possess high school diploma, office management experience a plus.
- Must have thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office products including, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Must be highly organized and detail oriented.
- Prior experience with purchase orders and related tasks is a plus.
- Must be nimble and able to shuffle from project to project, well-spoken and amicable in a fast-paced environment.
- Must possess problem solving skills and ability to work independently.
Responsibilities Include:
- Process centralized purchase requests assuring proper approvals and price comparison on-going basis.
- Enter orders into accounting software Purchase Order system.
- Process receipts and convert Purchase Orders to invoices.
- Process credit card statements, matching receipts, and documentation for accounting purposes.
- Follow up with employees for detailed missing information as needed.
- Work with Accounting team on projects as needed.
- Become familiarized with state procurement requirements and be able to research issues as they arise.
- Other duties assigned by the Director
