Who we are: SIGNAL Coffee is specialty coffee made in the East Bay. Our easy-to-love coffees roasted just for SIGNAL pair with our special in-house bakery and savory. Together, along with our incredible baristas and service, we create a cozy, elevated experience in a unique space. SIGNAL Coffee Roasters (www.signalcoffee.com) was founded in 2019, and we have cafes in Alameda and Berkeley.
Who you are: A coffee professional ready to bring their skill to the bar.
We love good teamwork, good communication, and a good sense of humor. We pay above minimum plus tips (which are typically pretty strong). We provide coffee to our workers, beans every week, and meals while on-shift, as well as an off-shift discount.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Greet customers, take orders, answer any questions regarding ingredients and sources of menu items.
Process sales of drinks, food, and merchandise using cash, card, etc..
Make and serve hot and cold drinks, heat and assemble food items with a focus on consistency.
Keep bar area and cafe clean and organized.
Follow and comply with health and safety regulations (including food safety requirements). Food handler’s card required.
Restock and rotate perishable product and disposable paper/plastic items. Stock, inventory count, reporting, etc.
Follow and complete opening and closing duties (including dishes, trash, and floors).
Weekend availability is required.
Communication Skills
Properly communicate with customers and provide excellent, friendly service.
Ask necessary questions and pay attention to details in order to fulfill customers' orders correctly.
Communicate with the manager regarding any customer issues or feedback, maintenance required, or other management related tasks.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
Must be able to carry heavy items up and down stairs.
Must be able to stand for the duration of shifts.
