What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Affairs Specialist position at Signal Energy Logo?
As a Legal Affairs Specialist you will provide support to our Chief Legal Officer, General Counsel, and other members of the legal team. You should have several years of legal experience, preferably in a corporate setting and you will provide support with commercial contracts as well as litigation support. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Prepare, file, and manage various business entity documents for all company entities.
- Renew and maintain company licensing for all company entities.
- For all company entities, research requirements for licenses in various jurisdictions.
- For all company entities, submit applications for new company licenses as needed.
- Prepare and file paperwork needed by regulatory bodies and respond to requests for information.
- Act as a liaison to third-party vendors managing business entity documents and company licensing.
- Provide support related to claims, litigation, and contested matters.
- Manage incoming Legal Department mail and distribute as required.
- Draft various agreements or contracts as needed, such as license agreements, non-disclosure agreements, etc.
- Review assessments and contracts, suggesting changes as appropriate.
- Assist with review of contracts for drafting notices and change orders, as required.
- Control and track changes in documents being reviewed through completion and signature.
- Prepare correspondence and oversee delivery and execution of time-sensitive materials.
- Maintain relevant legal files and corresponding document calendar.
- Maintain a database of licensing activity and corporate entities.
- Research and compile data for special projects as requested.
Preferred Requirements:
- Associate Degree is required (Bachelor's degree is preferred).
- Prefer as least three years of legal experience working with general corporate matters, basic commercial contracts, and litigation support.
