Position: Outdoor Mall Security Officer

Pay: $16.00/hr

Shift: Friday and Saturday 4:00PM-12:00AM (16 hours)

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients. This role requires a proactive approach to security, including monitoring premises, preventing loss, and responding to incidents effectively. The Security Officer will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of facilities through conflict management.

Key Duties:

• Conduct Hourly Foot Patrols: Perform thorough foot patrols of the mall every hour, following the designated path along the inner sidewalk area to ensure a visible security presence and to monitor for any potential disturbances.
• Be Vigilant and Observant: Remain constantly aware of surrounding individuals and activities during patrols, identifying and responding to any potential security concerns, disturbances, or unusual events.
• Check Storefront Security: During each foot patrol, inspect the doors of closed shops to ensure they are securely locked and report any issues immediately.
• Perform Vehicle Patrols: After completing foot patrols, conduct a vehicle patrol around the outer perimeter of the mall to enhance visibility and act as a deterrent to suspicious activity.
• Facilitate Quick Response: Use the vehicle to quickly respond to any received calls or incidents, ensuring timely intervention and support where needed.
• Maintain a Security Presence: Ensure that both foot and vehicle patrols are carried out in a manner that reinforces the security presence throughout the mall, helping to deter criminal activity and reassure patrons.
• Document and Report Incidents: Record any incidents, disturbances, or security concerns encountered during patrols, and report them promptly according to established procedures.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must be able to maintain site-specific security orders
• Must be able to pass a background check & drug test
• Must have a working and functional smartphone with data to conduct reports
• Must own personal transportation or have reliable transportation to get to and from work

Education:

• High school diploma or GED is required

Job Type: Part-time
