Job Title: Supply Chain Analyst
Location: Houston Corporate Office
Status: Full-time, Exempt
Reports To: Vice President of Business Optimization
Position Summary:
The Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for supporting the planning of production, plant shipments, vendor purchase orders, and operational reporting. This role requires critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making to address plant capacity/constraints, operations, logistics, and order fulfillment. The Analyst will collaborate with various business functions, including logistics, sales, customer service, and procurement, and will report directly to the Vice President of Business Optimization.
Essential Responsibilities:
Supply Planning & Feasibility
• Work with Sales and Plant Production Managers to develop and validate mid- to long-term supply plans (S&OP) for assigned products.
• Recommend actions in case of supply chain issues or constraints.
Inventory Management
• Monitor, track, and report on inventory levels for both in-process and finished goods.
• Set and monitor inventory targets for critical spares in support of ongoing operations.
• Compare actual inventory levels to targets to ensure alignment and avoid stock-outs.
• Utilize analytical methodology to maintain lean inventory levels and adjust as business conditions change.
• Manage off-site inventory with vendor partners to ensure constant visibility by SPS field personnel.
Material Tracking & ERP Management
• Develop skills and expertise to become a Subject Matter Expert (“SME”) for the ERP Inventory module. Ensure material movements in the ERP system reflect accurate inventory levels.
• Assess and maintain item categorization accuracy to support efficient review by field personnel.
• Participate in Master Data Management reviews to ensure consistency and accuracy of information throughout the SPS product lifecycle.
Vendor Management
• Correspond with existing and prospective vendors to ensure safety compliance meets SPS standards.
• Participate in the vendor vetting process to ensure vendor partners support the safety, environmental, and economical goals of the company.
Operations and Procurement KPIs:
• Develop and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive plant operations towards maximizing throughput and efficiency.
• Aggregate and distribute procurement metrics to inform SPS personnel of opportunities to improve economic decision making.
Education & Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• 3 years of experience in supply chain management or a related field.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Attention to Detail: Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Purchasing & Inventory Control: Knowledge of purchasing and inventory control systems.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and drive results through analysis and decision-making.
• Problem Solving: Capable of identifying problems, analyzing data, and developing solutions to address issues.
• Planning & Prioritization: Strong analytical, planning, and prioritization skills to ensure efficient supply chain management.
