What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Operator position at Signal Peak Silica?
Essential Functions:
- Safely operate front end loaders, haul trucks, dingo and skid steer.
· Perform appropriate pre-shift equipment examinations.
· Grease and fuel equipment when needed.
- Perform some plant maintenance as directed, including assisting shift mechanic with repairs as extra set of hands.
- May drive a pick-up truck or maintenance vehicle in the plant and/or to pick-up parts from local vendors
· Assist with screen changes
· Assist with area cleanups using hand tools.
· Other duties as assigned.
Job Specification (knowledge, skills and abilities normally required for competent performance in the job):
- Maintain safe, neat, and orderly work areas in and around the facility.
· Ability to communicate with Plant Operator and Shift Supervisor.
- Follow safe work practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and as described during training.
- Perform work in accordance with all applicable State and Federal mining laws.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibility.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
Certifications:
None
Required Experience:
Previous experience operating a front end loader.
