Signarama is seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive / Sign Painter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of the painting process, from surface preparation to final finishing on a variety of sign projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Surface Preparation & Painting:
- Prepare surfaces for painting using various methods (sanding, priming, etc.)
- Utilize Matthews paint system for optimal results on acrylic, wood, plastic, and metal substrates.
- Apply paint using high-pressure, low-volume (HPLV) sprayers.
- Accurately complete all painting tasks according to project specifications and timelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring safety protocols are adhered to at all times.
- Sign Fabrication & Vinyl Application:
- Assist in the fabrication of various sign types.
- Apply vinyl graphics and lettering to finished sign surfaces.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect finished work for quality and accuracy.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any painting issues.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of paint and painting supplies.
- Customer Service:
- Assist with providing paint work quotes to other departments (with manager oversight).
- Tool Maintenance:
- Maintain and clean all painting tools, equipment, and the spray booth.
- Safety:
- Adhere to all safety regulations and best practices.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in using hand and power tools (sanders, drills, etc.)
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to painting
- High School Diploma or GED required. Some college or trade school preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in automotive painting or a related field (e.g., industrial painting, sign painting)
- Experience with HPLV spray guns preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
