Apprentice Funeral Director/Embalmer

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team. While not required at this time, the ideal candidate will have an interest in enrolling in Mortuary school with the intent to make this a career. Some nights and weekends will be required.

Duties

• Learn to coordinate and oversee all aspects of funeral services, including event planning and logistics.
• Learn to conduct funeral services, ensuring that all details are executed according to the family's wishes.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to each service.
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a smooth operation of the day to day activities of the funeral home.
• Assist licensed Funeral Directors in sales activities related to funeral products and services, providing excellent customer service throughout the process.
• Engage with families in a respectful manner, addressing their needs and concerns with empathy.

Skills

• Ability to perform heavy lifting when preparing for services or moving equipment.
• Learn to provide support, helping families cope with their loss.
• Assisting licensed directors in funeral directing, learn to demonstrate an understanding of the industry standards and practices.
• Learn to effectively communicate options available for funeral services and products.
• Develop excellent customer service skills to ensure families feel supported throughout their experience.

We currently have an open position for a full-time permanent admin/Intern position at our Sparta location that could lead to a paid school and Licensed position for the right individual. This is a 40 hour a week position with benefits.

The position starts between $12 and $18 per hour. Some weekend and evening work is required as Funeral Homes are open every day. (But we do try to keep you to the 40 hours.)

Professional dress and demeanor are essential as well as having solid basic computer skills. This position requires a unique blend of technical knowledge, emotional intelligence, and organizational skills. Pay: $12.00 - $18.00 per hour
