ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This job requires some mechanical abilities and a willingness to learn. Responsibilities include setting up and prepping various machines in the Finishing department to process jobs as needed. These machines include addressing, inserting, binding, folding, and cutting. The Operator will help trouble-shoot problems and work with Maintenance on performing preventive maintenance and maintaining machines. When not setting up the machines or performing maintenance, the Operator will help on the production floor. This may include placing paper advertisements into an inserting machine hopper, jogging and bundling copies using a machine strapper, stacking finished product onto pallets, and performs other related tasks as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalency. Experience in the printing and bindery industry, along with having a mechanical background, is a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to verbally communicate effectively.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to count using addition and subtraction.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
