Information Security Compliance Officer

Signature Research, Inc. (SGR) seeks a full-time Information Security Compliance Officer to join their multi-disciplinary team in Calumet, Michigan.

This position is responsible for maintaining approved processes and procedures for information systems. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and has a willingness and ability to independently take on a variety of IT/IS tasks.

WHAT WE OFFER.

• $75,000 – $95,000 annual starting wage based on your knowledge and experience.

WHAT YOU WILL DO.

• Work with SGR’s Managed Service Provider to keep operations running smoothly.
• Manage system security for information systems, including virtual environments, data, software, hardware, and telecommunications equipment.
• Create and enforce system security plans. Monitor the IS Security Program and ensure policies and procedures are followed.
• Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot information systems and hardware.
• Continuously assess compliance with system security plans.
• Conduct audits, vulnerability scans, and risk assessments. Handle Assured File Transfer processes, maintain data integrity, and investigate security incidents.
• Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
• Support development staff as needed.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.

• Bachelor’s degree in information security, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, and work experience (at least 3 years).
• Proven experience in Information Technology.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense cybersecurity certification (e.g., CompTIA Security or similar) within 6 months if hired for this position when a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field does not apply.
• Proficiency in Linux Operating Systems including administrative knowledge required.
• Strong multitasking skills with the ability to meet competing deadlines.
• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Due to federal requirements for this position, the successful applicant must be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain (upon hire) a Top-Secret security clearance.
• A valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the United States (less than 20%) is required.

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS THAT PUT YOU OVER THE TOP.

• Active Top Secret Security Clearance.
• Meet current DoD 8140 certification requirements.
• Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP).
• Experience with Windows operating systems.
• Experience with security hardening, assessment, and reporting tools (e.g., SCAP, STIG).
• Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus).
• Knowledge of Risk Management Framework, DoD Assess and Authorize Process Manual (RMF), Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG), National Institute of Standards and Technology Special Publication 800-171, and Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC).
