Job Summary:
EG4 Electronics is seeking a Master Electrician to join our R&D team, specializing in testing and validating inverters, batteries, and energy storage systems. This role will be instrumental in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and compliance of our products by conducting rigorous testing procedures in collaboration with our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with high-voltage electrical systems and a strong understanding of UL, IEC, and NEC standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical testing and validation of inverters, lithium battery systems, and other energy storage components.
- Work closely with R&D engineers to design and execute test plans for performance, efficiency, and safety compliance.
- Set up and maintain high-voltage test benches, ensuring all equipment is properly calibrated and safe to use.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and document issues related to electrical faults, firmware, and system integration.
- Ensure compliance with relevant UL, IEC, and NEC standards, assisting in certification and regulatory testing.
- Provide expert input on wiring schematics, circuit protection, grounding, and system configurations.
- Assist in the development of installation and troubleshooting guides for field technicians and installers.
- Maintain accurate records of all test results, issues, and resolutions for documentation and reporting.
- Stay up to date with industry regulations and emerging technologies in energy storage and power electronics.
- Support training initiatives for internal staff, distributors, and installers on product safety and best practices.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Master Electrician license (State-specific certification required).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical systems, including inverters, energy storage, or renewable energy systems.
- Strong understanding of high-voltage DC and AC power systems, three-phase electrical systems, and grid-tied/off-grid applications.
- Experience working with UL 1741, IEEE 1547, NEC 690/705, and IEC 62109 compliance standards.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analyzers, and other diagnostic tools.
- Knowledge of Modbus, CAN bus, and communication protocols is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an R&D environment with engineers and technicians.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- OSHA, NFPA 70E, or similar safety certifications are a plus
