Staff Accountant

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Controller of The Real Estate Group, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for payables, receivables, month end closing entries, and supporting all other accounting and financial reporting functions related to the Signet Real Estate Group.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Process accounts payable for all real estate entities
• Bill properties and tenants for rents and expense reimbursements
• Apply cash receipts to A/R
• Posts monthly journal entries and accruals
• Performs GL account reconciliations
• Prepares monthly financial reports
• Completes month-end closings and reconciles bank statements
• Assist in year-end tax preparation for outside tax firms
• Process shareholder distributions
• Perform and review month-end close procedures for the corporate entities
• Prepare and review daily and monthly accounting transactions
• Supports the monthly financial closing process and prepares monthly financial statements
• Prepares reports required by management
• Special projects as needed

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• Two to four years of accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with QuickBooks preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
