Responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating processes related to performance improvement, staffing effectiveness, fiscal management, staff competence, and patient care outcomes. Ensures that regulatory requirements and standards, policies and procedures are communicated to staff and integrated into practice. Collaborates with other members of the hospital leadership team to plan, implement, and monitor clinical activities within the unit. Monitors unit activities and ensures compliance with laws and government regulations.

Primary Responsibilities
- Oversees all day-to-day operations of the psychiatric unit and leads program development short-term and long-term goals.
- Develops operating budgets consistent with unit objectives and strategic planning.
- Maintains policies, procedures, and objectives that include quality assurance, environmental, and infection control policies.
- Ensuring compliance with hospital, state, federal and licensing agency regulatory standards.
- Resolves any medical-administrative problems and keeps lines of communication open with staff to ensure high employee morale and a professional environment.
- Engage staff and providers to promote team building and collaboration.
- Establishes and fosters strong relationships with community leaders and service providers to promote/foster the positive reputation of the program.
- Bachelor's degree required in a related degree; Master's degree preferred.
- 5 years leading a successful and profitable inpatient psychiatric or long-term care facility.
- Experience leading a hospital-based psychiatric program or long-term care facility.
- Competent with compliance, strong focus on safety, quality, and integrity.
- Working knowledge of accreditation standards.
- Understanding of/ability to operate under a contract management arrangement.
