Description
Participate in all food service-related activities, including but not limited to, food preparation, food and supply handling, operating and utilizing all kitchen equipment; applying standard cooking methods (baking, roasting, steaming, broiling, sautéing, etc.); prepares and fills orders; stocks and preps station set-up; frequently works in multiple venues within Conference Services.
Brief Description of Responsibilities:
1) Preassemble and accurately prepare food products for all meal periods and all locations through recipe compliance and as directed by the Executive Chef; use technical skills to ensure finished product meets accepted culinary standards with appearance, taste, texture, and aroma.
2) Monitor all refrigeration and dry storage for proper temperature containment, food handling and rotation using FIFO procedure. Monitor incoming food product to insure quality and safety.
3) Cleans and organizes workstation including countertops, shelves and refrigerators; maintains a clean and sanitary culinary environment and HACCP documentation in compliance with local & federal health codes
4) Perform other related duties as requested or assigned.
Qualifications
Physical Requirements:
· Perform General Physical Activities: Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and pushing, moving and handling of materials.
· Must be able to lift 35 lbs.
· Must successfully pass a physical examination.
· May be exposed to extreme temperatures, slippery floors, sharp utensils, and a variety of high temperature cooking equipment. Weekly schedules may vary to include fluctuating days and/or shifts.
